"Millie's making a vegan thanksgiving!" says Ozzie. "Yikes!!!"
His stomach growls.
"What am I going to eat around here!?!"
Mooch offers Ozzie his cat-food. Ozzie seems to be seriously considering it.

There is a loud crack, followed by a boom. Privates Diller and Plato look worried.
"Well, the weather-man did predict 'localized storms'" says Diller, commenting on the fact that a very small thunderstorm has broken out about a foot above Pvt. Bailey's head. Bailey bears this with resignation, rather than alarm.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a comic strip is no ordinary picture! It's worth a lot less.

Explaining Mutts
Earl and Mooch are walking through a field of giant mushrooms.
"It's been an unusually damp spring." says Earl.
"Yesh." says Mooch.
See, mushrooms enjoy damp environments and so the unseasonably damp weather has caused them to flourish, but this would not actually be sufficient to explain their enormous size as depicted here. Mushrooms just don't get that big, so the casual acceptance of this wholly insufficient explanation is somewhat comical.

Pondering Mutts
So the cat has this speech impediment where it says "sh" instead of "s". It's irritatingly cutesy and I hate it, but this is just going too far. How the hell do you get "shmight"? There's no S in that word at all! What sort of speech impediment is this supposed to be?
