"They say someday pets might be replaced by robots" says Jon, disinterestedly reading the paper. Garfield doesn't react, so Jon leaves.

Suddenly a second Garfield appears on the scene, eating a sandwich.

"Did he notice?" thinks the new Garfield.
"No" replies the first, mechanically.
